‘Cutting Edge and Frontiers’ (CEF, English and Chinese editions) is edited by Professor Xiangqun Chang, President of GCA, Honorary Professor of University College London (2015–20), UK, and Professor Carsten Herrmann-Pillath, Vice-President of GCA and Permanent Fellow at the Max Weber Centre for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies at Erfurt University, Germany.

This series is dedicated to showcasing the latest advancements in social science and humanities. It provides a platform for readers to explore and understand the forefront of research and development across various fields, offering insights into the most advanced social scientific topics globally. It aims to inspire and propel in-depth thinking and discussion among the social scientific community and broad readership about the future development of methodology, integrating Chinese scholarship into global discourse, promoting a more balanced and inclusive academic environment, and driving continuous progress in all domains.

Global Century Press adopts a dual mode of open access and subscription.

Under our open access model, we make 80 percent of our content freely available to the public, promoting academic exchange and knowledge sharing. This means that readers can freely access and download certain chapters or portions of a book’s content, without any payment or subscription required.

At the same time, we also offer a subscription model, providing readers who need it with wider access and services. Through subscription, readers can gain access to the full content of books, special features or additional resources, as well as other benefits exclusive to subscribers.

This is significantly different from hybrid open access models which are typically based on the payment of the author or their institution. Through our dual model, we aim to balance considerations of public interest and commerciality, meeting a broad readership’s demand for open access, while also providing certain financial support for the sustainable development of Global Century Press.

Submissions

Global Century Press invites submissions of original, previously unpublished articles in English, Chinese or both languages. Comprehensive information on submissions (dual languages, articles and themes, book reviews, general submission guidelines, reviewing procedures, title page and affiliation, abstract, summary and keywords, word limits, presentation, referencing, tables and figures, permissions, notes on rendering Chinese names, examples of topics and themes) can be found in the GCP House Style Guide. Books that do not meet our requirements will be returned without consideration.
