Abstract: In the new era, with the rise of self-consciousness in Chinese sociology theory and the full re-establishment of this discipline, the creation of the discourse system in sociology is put on the agenda. Being a major part of the redevelopment of social science, discourse in Chinese sociology is never an issue with only one dimension. It cannot be achieved by keeping itself apart from the disciplinary and academic systems of the world. Neither can it be achieved within an unequal framework of academic self-colonization. Instead, what it needs is a complex, multi-directional, interactive process that integrates open assimilation, multiple dialogues and localization. One of the inevitable issues in this enterprise is that of ‘reconciling and connecting China and the West’.
