卓越董事会：全球最佳实践

纪念费孝通先生学术活动的主题“理解中国”成为另一套系列丛书的题目，即本套丛书。“理解中国”英文是“understanding China”。在2001年耶鲁大学约翰·布莱恩·斯塔尔（John Bryan Starr）博士出版的一书（Understanding China: A Guide to China’s Economy, History, and Political Culture）的封面上的汉字为“了解中国”，与该书的副标题“中国经济、历史和政治文化指南”十分贴切。在此书写作十余年后，我们试图通过研究中国著名社会学和人类学家费孝通的个案来深入地“理解中国”。

The theme of commemorating Fei Xiaotong’s academic activities ‘Understanding China’ became a title of another book series, namely this series of books. The English translation of ‘理解中国’is ‘understanding China’. In 2001, Dr John Brian Starr of Yale University published Understanding China, with the Chinese characters ‘了解中国’ on the cover, representing the subtitle, ‘A Guide to China’s Economy, History and Political Culture’. This opened the door to further studies aimed at understanding China. We are now making a case of renowned Chinese sociologist and anthropologist Fei Xiaotong for a starting point to a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China.

The two authors have received doctorates from top international universities and have a rich academic background. They are also familiar with the reality of Chinese enterprises and have a precise grasp of the corporate governance of Chinese enterprises.
