《社科汉语研究》第1期（2022）奠定了本刊以阅读、写作、翻译和双语信息为基本框架的整体结构，并明确提出“社科汉语”是“专门用途汉语”Chinese for Specific Purposes（CSP）的一个分支，重点关注社会科学中的语言、概念、翻译与跨文化理解。阅读部分以费孝通著作及中日印社会结构比较为重点，通过中级和高级阅读，引导读者从全球与比较视野理解中国社会及相关概念；写作部分为非汉语母语学习者提供园地，收录疫情主题文章；翻译部分集中讨论社会科学英译汉、“跨文化”“超文化”“转文化”等概念的译法及其方法论意义。与此同时，本期已经设置较完整的“双语信息”部分，介绍环球世纪出版社的双语出版体例、排版、标点和中文姓名英文显示规范，形成了此后各期延续的基本模式。

The 2022 first volume of the Journal of Chinese for Social Science established the journal’s basic structure of Reading, Writing, Translation and Dual-Language Information, while defining Chinese for Social Science as a branch of Chinese for Specific Purposes (CSP) concerned with language, concepts, translation and cross-cultural understanding in the social sciences. The Reading section focused particularly on Fei Xiaotong and comparative studies of Chinese, Japanese and Indian social structures, using intermediate and advanced reading materials to encourage global and comparative perspectives on Chinese society and related concepts. The Writing section provided a platform for non-native Chinese speakers and included contributions on the COVID-19 pandemic, while the Translation section examined issues in English–Chinese social science translation and debated the meanings and translation of concepts such as cross-cultural, transcultural and “转文化”. The issue also introduced a substantial Dual-Language Information section presenting Global Century Press’s conventions for bilingual publishing, layout, punctuation and the English presentation of Chinese names, thereby establishing a model that continued in later issues.
